‘Cease Striving’. Sometimes easier said than done.
I know that sometimes I try just so hard at something. Sometimes it works out. Sometimes it falls flat on the floor. But what I’ve learnt is that God is much less concerned with the thing that we’re doing, and more about OUR HEART behind it.
The little ‘strivings’ that we pursue are nothing to a mighty God that fights for us and is victorious in the battles that we face. If these strivings are causing us to lean on our own understanding and stop trusting him- if they are causing us to be further from him, than he doesn’t want that for our lives. He just wants us to trust in him- even though the mountains fall into the sea.
So, this artwork is a subtle everyday reminder to not let our ambitions distract us from the faithful, loving God who holds everything in his hands! Things really do work out better when we cease striving and just faithfully follow where he leads and worship him in everything we do. After all- that’s what he made us for!
